The simple things

As long as we have petrol in the car, our adventures can take us anywhere. taking the kids out doesn't have to break the bank, lets face it we work our butts off, we pay bill and some of us just scrap by.

I'll make a pack up, and pack some crisps, some fruit and a few bottles of water. Sometimes we can't always get out if theirs an unexpected bill due  the kids need something for school, so i try to make sure we have garden activities to do instead, like bubbles something so simple can bring them so much fun for hours, and once there empty good old washing up liquid does the job!

You don't have to spend money to keep them happy, little walks out to the wood especially now going on a 'bear hunt' finding leaves and concurs on the way and ringing them back and creating an autumnal picture for the grandparents of the fridge.

Most of us have some sort of hidden 'rainy day' cupboard so go in there and raid it, get the paints out, do some themed paintings, make mess, and see your children smile from ear to ear.

As i said as long as i have petrol we'll jump in the car and more then likely drive to the beach, which is a fun day for us all but can be so cheap, the kids search the rock pools, and dig for hidden treasures.

I think we would all like an endless supply of money so on the weekends we can go anywhere, but lets face it that's not going to happen, don't think of it as a competition either, as long as you and the kids are having fun then you know what that's actually all that matters!

I think rather then spending every last penny i have on taking them to some extravagant day out, the kids really do enjoy me putting my brain to work and creating things for us to do, we've recently been using our recycling to make some models as well and come on all kids love getting sticky and mucky!

Even a trip the local park can be so much fun! as i said before with it being Autumn, its just such a great season to be creative! maybe a good thing would be if you went on a woodland walk to ask the kids to make a tick list before you leave, and once they spot them in the woods tick them off, and if you can take some pictures and print them off to create a memories scrap book?!

Just think simple sometimes because it can be much more fun!
