Christmas is the most magical time of the year, and as our children grow up its nice to keep the excitement of Father Christmas alive as long as we can. Childs Farm review

Image
When is comes to skin care and bath/shower for my children i always like things that keep there skin soft and defiantly does not irritate them. When they where little all three of them suffered with dry skin, which was rather horrible at times, in the winter my daughter still get dry patches now which can cause her some irritation. I find that cheaper products really don't do anything for there soft child skin, even some big brands don't last long keeping there skin dry free so trying different products to find the one that's just right has been a task and a half. The lovely people over at child's farm kindly sent us some products to try. We've been using them for a few weeks now and i'm rather impressed, my daughters dry skin seems to have cleared right up. The products:  We have two hair and body washes, and a 3 in 1 swim, firstly the designs on there packaging is brilliant! the bright coloured bottles, the funky styled pictures. Branding is...

A letter to my children.

Image
A letter to my children, To you who showed me what love really is, who made my heart grow three times the size it was. You've grown me into the women i am today, the love have have for the three of you is like no other. You fill my world with chaos, but i wouldn't want it any other way. When i held you in my arms, i knew i would give my last breath for you, to promise to protect you for always. To cuddle you when your happy or sad, to play silly games with. You my darlings are my sunshine in the darkest of days, you give me a reason to wake up. My bond with you each is different, we all love to do different things. Yet those family days we have filled with memories can not be beat.  I'm so proud of you all, the humans you have grown in to You all have your off days but that's just life. I'm proud of me too for doing my best for you all, don't change my darlings.  Always be proud of what you achieve, always be yourself, stand up for what you believe...

Sharing the love..

Image
When i first saw those two little lines almost 10 years ago, a surge of worry, panic, and a bag full of emotions hit me, we had not planned to start a family, plus we had only been together a few months. I really didn't know what to do, being honest i thought this little "thing" growing inside me would be the end of what seemed to be a perfect relationship. What did i do? Well i didn't say a word, for a good week i kept it to myself, trying to work out what would be the best decision, if i could raise a child on my own. How wrong i was, after finally gathering the courage to tell my boyfriend, a weight was lifted he was over the moon. Our relationship had moved pretty fast, but you know when you just feel like you was supposed to find this other human, the right to your left well that was us. With a 13 year age gap people did talk behind our backs, " oh she's just a fling" " They won't settle down" " that relationship won...

A Foodies Dream Come True...

Image
I'm a massive foodie, i always have been. From a young age cooking has always been a big part of my life, from making cupcakes to full 3 course meals. A big inspiration has always been Rick Stein, from watching him on Saturday kitchen, to asking for his cook books at Christmas. Such a joy to watch and learn from, and since the age of about 9 i decided i wanted to become a chef like my idol. It never happened and i took a different path, but still i will always be thankful to Rick for bringing out my inner chef. I had always wanted to travel down to Cornwall in hope that id actually bump in to the man himself, that's not yet happened but i'm hoping to attend a few advents now we live here. Visiting a couple of his famous restaurants, has literally been a dream come true to me, like a child at Christmas, i was finding it hard to control my excitement. Our first trip was down to Falmouth, with and idyllic setting, i couldn't pass a photo op...

A little bit of me time..

Image
Life can be hard and can throw you some big curve balls every know and then! Its busy and chaotic even with out three kids in toe, if i knew being an adult would be this hard i wouldn't have grown up!  Making a bit of time for yourself is not selfish but bloody much needed!  it doesn't have to be anything over dramatic either, my little me time treat is a Friday night pamper. Cue the candles and romantic music! ( ha ) once the kids are fed, washed and happy ( not trying to kill each other ) in bed I'll jump in the shower and use my all time faves!  Imperial leather has always been a go to for me, at a none ridiculous price but still great quality, i'll always look for these when i'm shopping.  There new limited edition range grabbed me straight away ( i'm a sucker for anything with flamingos on ) and does it smell AMAZZING!!  The unicorn one was more having my 5 year old daughter in mind, so I've not really had a look in...

The simple things

Image
As long as we have petrol in the car, our adventures can take us anywhere. taking the kids out doesn't have to break the bank, lets face it we work our butts off, we pay bill and some of us just scrap by. I'll make a pack up, and pack some crisps, some fruit and a few bottles of water. Sometimes we can't always get out if theirs an unexpected bill due  the kids need something for school, so i try to make sure we have garden activities to do instead, like bubbles something so simple can bring them so much fun for hours, and once there empty good old washing up liquid does the job!  You don't have to spend money to keep them happy, little walks out to the wood especially now going on a 'bear hunt' finding leaves and concurs on the way and ringing them back and creating an autumnal picture for the grandparents of the fridge. Most of us have some sort of hidden 'rainy day' cupboard so go in there and raid it, get the paints out, do some themed...

One big competition.

Image
Most of the time i just try to wing my way through life like every bloody day and being a parent there's no handbooks to guide you in the right direction, because there is no right and wrong, I just try to bring my three humans up as best as i can, to be kind, caring, respectful, peaceful humans in a crazy world just trying to get through!  Don't you feel though that sometimes it all seems like one big competition? Like who has the cleanest house, who has the biggest following, who's been to the best places, who drive the best car and so on... Don't get me wrong i'd love a larger following on Instagram but hey ho, maybe one day. I think its to easy to copy other people, just because there telling you how "perfect" there life is and all that crap doesn't mean its real! Bloody hell i mean i try to keep on top of the washing, the cleaning but lets face it i'm never going to live in a spotless house, and i can't afford the latest mobil...

This is me.

Image
THIS IS ME. I may not be a model, i'm not a superstar, i'm not skinny or beautiful, but you know something? This is me, its taken me a long time to feel happy and confident in myself and i think i'm finally there. Here i am with my mum tum, my stretch marks, bags under my eyes, wobbly bits these my be my flaws but i don't care because I'm happy, i have carried three babies, I've fed them, I've lost sleep, I've eaten cake because i like it but these flaws don't define me. I have a man that man that love's me for me that'd held me when I've cried because i didn't think i was good enough, who told me i was, that if i wanted to i could do anything i put my mind to. So you now what YOU are beautiful, we all are, in our own way, flaws and all. Embracing them, excepting them is the first step to self love and its a step we all need to take. I'm beautiful to the ones who love me, i am super women to my children, a beautiful w...

That Lonely feeling...

Image
As i scroll through my social media pages seeing what my friends have been up to and what they have planned, admittedly does make me slightly jealous. Being this far away from all my close friends does suck, I've lost my support network the ones i would normally lean on, but social media and technology keeps us in contact, and we  speak everyday, it's not the same as meeting up for coffee and cake, or going shopping, lunch trips and nights out the list goes on! I do feel cut of from everyone, only because where we live in a small village and it's kind of keep yourself to yourself, but i'm so happy the boys have made some lovely new friends that live along our little road, seeing them have fun out on there bikes and exploring makes my heart melt even when i am feeling cut off. Having friends is an important thing but for me the kids having friends was a bigger thing! once there at school i'm sure i'll make some "school mum" friends. ...

Exploring Bude beach...

Image
Exploring Bude Beach.... A place we had never been to in Cornwall until we moved, our usual areas where Hayle, St ives. Living up the top part of Cornwall has now opened a world to explore. . . With a beautiful beach, canal, sweet little shops and some lovely places to grab a drink or have some food it was certainty somewhere we wanted to visit. After what seemed like a life time trying to just get the kids in the car, we finally arrived and what a place. . . We took a walk down to the beach passing the canal where you can hire row boats and  pedalos, the boat restaurant which always seems to be busy, the kids love the beach as i'm sure do most. So off they went running towards the sea, what they didn't know is that me and mark had been there once before when we came to view this house. . . We stopped them in there tracks to show them the sea pool! this is fantastic i think a safer place for children to play, small children and non swimmers, of cour...

Foodie Family

Image
Foodie Family, yep that's us!  We love trying out new foods, if it means going out to eat in a new restaurant, cafe or sandwich bar, or being indoors and cooking together as a family, my kids have always enjoyed helping me in the kitchen it something we all enjoy. . . Sometimes feeding the kids can be tricky my eldest son Charlie can be a fussy bugger, but the other two well you know what they would eat bloody anything, so sometimes i find my self in a pile of different pots and pans food all over the counter smoke alarms going off in the manic time that is dinner. . . So we are looking for FOOD INSPIRATION we need help to stop cooking the same dinners night in and out, we want to try different things spice up dinner times a bit, because at the moment we are in a bit of a food rut!  . . Family friendly meals, but also meals that just me and mark can enjoy once the kids are in bed. Em x    Charlie enjoying his fish and chips Rick steins sa...
