Childs Farm review

Image
When is comes to skin care and bath/shower for my children i always like things that keep there skin soft and defiantly does not irritate them. When they where little all three of them suffered with dry skin, which was rather horrible at times, in the winter my daughter still get dry patches now which can cause her some irritation. I find that cheaper products really don't do anything for there soft child skin, even some big brands don't last long keeping there skin dry free so trying different products to find the one that's just right has been a task and a half. The lovely people over at child's farm kindly sent us some products to try. We've been using them for a few weeks now and i'm rather impressed, my daughters dry skin seems to have cleared right up. The products:  We have two hair and body washes, and a 3 in 1 swim, firstly the designs on there packaging is brilliant! the bright coloured bottles, the funky styled pictures. Branding is...

Parenting fails...

You get them dressed, what seems to take forever along with the thousand questions. You load them in to the car, check everyone has there seat belts on, and off you go. You park up after what seems to have been the longest car journey of your life!  you look at yourself in the mirror, and think... Why the bloody hell did i think it was a good idea to bring the kids food shopping on a Saturday along with every other person in this town? How many times have i parent failed by doing this, well to be honest I've lost count! kids and food shopping do not mix well in fact kids and shopping do not go well!  i mean for start all they do is argue! then you have a slight panic attack when you can find one of them, but its ok there just playing hide and seek in among the veg!  Then a mini break down at the toy isle just because you won't by them the toy that's £80!! "how many times if your good Santa might bring you something like this for Christm...

Sharing the love..

When i first saw those two little lines almost 10 years ago, a surge of worry, panic, and a bag full of emotions hit me, we had not planned to start a family, plus we had only been together a few months. I really didn't know what to do, being honest i thought this little "thing" growing inside me would be the end of what seemed to be a perfect relationship. What did i do? Well i didn't say a word, for a good week i kept it to myself, trying to work out what would be the best decision, if i could raise a child on my own. How wrong i was, after finally gathering the courage to tell my boyfriend, a weight was lifted he was over the moon. Our relationship had moved pretty fast, but you know when you just feel like you was supposed to find this other human, the right to your left well that was us. With a 13 year age gap people did talk behind our backs, " oh she's just a fling" " They won't settle down" " that relationship won...

How i keep on top of it all...

Running a home, and parenting three children can be a bloody hard task for anyone! Luckily for me all three of mine are now at school, so that's when i get the house back in order! Once I've finally managed to drag them out of there pits ( this does take a while ) and there eating breakfast, i'll quickly go round ad make there beds, but that as much as i will do i the morning. After there at school, I'll come home, have a hot drink and a scroll through Social media. Then get my arse in to gear, i start from bottom to top, and for me a must have is some good cleaning tunes, nothing helps more then a good old sing along while your knee deep in washing, and cleaning products! If I've got a slow cooker meal in mind for dinner that will all be chucked on before i start cleaning and tidying, as it can just be left to do it thing. I only got a slow cooker last may ( birthday present ) and I've actually really enjoyed using it and finding new recipes to...

A little bit of me time..

Image
Life can be hard and can throw you some big curve balls every know and then! Its busy and chaotic even with out three kids in toe, if i knew being an adult would be this hard i wouldn't have grown up!  Making a bit of time for yourself is not selfish but bloody much needed!  it doesn't have to be anything over dramatic either, my little me time treat is a Friday night pamper. Cue the candles and romantic music! ( ha ) once the kids are fed, washed and happy ( not trying to kill each other ) in bed I'll jump in the shower and use my all time faves!  Imperial leather has always been a go to for me, at a none ridiculous price but still great quality, i'll always look for these when i'm shopping.  There new limited edition range grabbed me straight away ( i'm a sucker for anything with flamingos on ) and does it smell AMAZZING!!  The unicorn one was more having my 5 year old daughter in mind, so I've not really had a look in...

The simple things

Image
As long as we have petrol in the car, our adventures can take us anywhere. taking the kids out doesn't have to break the bank, lets face it we work our butts off, we pay bill and some of us just scrap by. I'll make a pack up, and pack some crisps, some fruit and a few bottles of water. Sometimes we can't always get out if theirs an unexpected bill due  the kids need something for school, so i try to make sure we have garden activities to do instead, like bubbles something so simple can bring them so much fun for hours, and once there empty good old washing up liquid does the job!  You don't have to spend money to keep them happy, little walks out to the wood especially now going on a 'bear hunt' finding leaves and concurs on the way and ringing them back and creating an autumnal picture for the grandparents of the fridge. Most of us have some sort of hidden 'rainy day' cupboard so go in there and raid it, get the paints out, do some themed...

This is me.

Image
THIS IS ME. I may not be a model, i'm not a superstar, i'm not skinny or beautiful, but you know something? This is me, its taken me a long time to feel happy and confident in myself and i think i'm finally there. Here i am with my mum tum, my stretch marks, bags under my eyes, wobbly bits these my be my flaws but i don't care because I'm happy, i have carried three babies, I've fed them, I've lost sleep, I've eaten cake because i like it but these flaws don't define me. I have a man that man that love's me for me that'd held me when I've cried because i didn't think i was good enough, who told me i was, that if i wanted to i could do anything i put my mind to. So you now what YOU are beautiful, we all are, in our own way, flaws and all. Embracing them, excepting them is the first step to self love and its a step we all need to take. I'm beautiful to the ones who love me, i am super women to my children, a beautiful w...

Not just a mum.

Image
Becoming a parent, is such a wonderful thing and by god i feel so grateful to be able to have three beautiful healthy children, but along with loving them comes something else. Its almost as those people forget you, and who you are, i'm not just a mum, i'm still me! I still enjoy things that i did before i had kids ( minus crazy nights out ) but why is it when you have children you loose  friends because now you have kids they don't see you in the same light? We may have changed in some ways, but underneath the dirty clothes, washing piles, pack lunch boxes we are still there. Being a parent does come first but, we still have needs and wants in life. Before i had kids i always wanted to be a holiday rep i never fulfilled that dream, as well a becoming a chef which never happened but to my kids i'm the best cook! Sometimes i feel i'm suck in that mum zone 24/7 with my eldest being 10 in January we've not spent much time as just a couple either, which i...

Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre... http://www.tamarotters.co.uk/ A little hidden gem perfect for a family day out, the Otter park holds a variety of wildlife and of course the cutest family's of otters! A family run business in North Perthwin funded purely on the income of visitors, prices are fairly priced we purchased a family ticket costing £26.50 which is 2 adults and up to 3 children. On arrival theirs a good sized car park offering plenty of room. Greeted at the gift shop window, (excepting card which is great as a lot of us don't seem to carry cash anymore) given a map of the centre and also given the feeding times these times are also displayed around the park. With free roaming ducks and peacocks the kids became very excited these are asian clawed otters, walking down the little slop there two otter enclosures, behind these are the prettiest looking birds. ` There's seven different species of owl and birds or prey, wallabies, rabbits, and ...

Why we decided to move 300 miles.

Image
Our 300 mile Move.... Life as a parent can be scary, when we was living in Kent we lived in a two bed flat with five of us. We did the same old day in day out, life was passing us by and being completely honest i worried about the kids getting older and letting them have freedom. We knew things had to change for us all, we decided Cornwall was the way forward for us and our little family, after many "family meetings" and discussions with the kids we all wanted to move. . . . Down here our children have freedom, more space then we could have wished for and for us as parents there's less worry, life seems and feels so different not so worrying and daunting, of course no matter what age we will always worry about our kids but we all feel safer. . . So as parents we know we made the right choice no matter what people say, we did it for us and for our children to live a life of fresh air and freedom. Sometimes you have to follow your dreams because they lead y...
